Cover Work - Tuesday 7th February

Hi all,

I am on a school trip the BFI today so please complete the cover work below.

Task 1

Complete your notes on your two music videos. Make sure they are as detailed as possible. Extra sheets can be found on the teachers desk. Stick into your books.

Task 2

In your book, research the two music videos you have chosen. For each video, find the answers to the following questions:

1. Who is the artist? 
2. How long has the artist been famous for? 
3. What was their first single?
4. What are their most successful songs?
5. Watch a few of their past videos - what is their style like?
6. What are they best known for? (i.e. being rebellious? girl power? innocence? being overly sexual? etc...)
7. What is the genre of the song? How can you tell?
8. When was the song released?
9. EXTENSION QUESTIONS: What was happening around the the release? Any controversy? What did people say about the video? Where their other artists producing similar songs/videos?

Task 3

You now have free time on either Photoshop or Illustrator to practice your skills in preparation for the CD cover task. All tutorials can be found on the HELP section of the blog or alternatively you can browse youtube to find something you would be interested in trying out. Print what you have achieved and stick into your books.
